Maria Gawryluk (born in Poland; currently lives in New York) is an artist and photographer. Her artistic practices explore portrayals of femininity using the frameworks of artificiality and isolation. Being immersed in the world of fashion has given her an opportunity to examine the women’s world closely. Several years of working on a set revealed an essential backdrop to observe the societal condition of women in the 21st century, including commentary on the standards imposed in beauty and fashion. Gawryluk's work have been exhibited in New York, France, Netherlands and Poland.
